"Kumys", prepared from the horse, and "shubat", prepared from camel milk are special foods in the Kazakh cuisine and are also used for medical purposes. Prepared from these dairy bases, kumys and shubat are remedies from all diseases. These drinks are useful and important as they have therapeutic qualities. The aim of our work is to determine the caloric content and nutritional value of these national drinks via studying their chemical composition. We investigated their various contents of protein, fat, carbohydrate, vitamins, as well as additonal nutritional attributes of kumys and shubat. In kumys, we found a high content of essential amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids. However, regarding the protein value and availability of vitamins, shubat is superior to kumys. Kumys and shubat are both rich with the nutrients needed to perform various biological and physiological functions in the organism. The table data on the research results can be used for both public and private consumption.
